Kartik : Yam Kirtans
This is a collection of songs sung during the 8 periods of devotional service during the Kartik Maas vrata. Day and night (24 hours) is divided into eight periods. One period is stated as ‘Yam’. Night consists of three yams (three periods), day consists of three yams (three periods), along with these six periods, if ‘dawn’ and ‘dusk’ are added, sum total— 8 periods. It is possible only for a Vaishnava to worship Sri Krishna all the time in all respects with profound devoutness.

Third Yam – Nistha - 8:10am to 8:10am
Fourth Yam - Bhajan Ruchi - 10:34am to 3:22pm
Fifth Yam - Krishna Aasakti - 3:22pm to 5:46pm
Sixth Yam – Bhava - 5:46pm to 8:10pm
Seventh Yam - Prem Vipralambh - 8:10pm to 10:34pm
Eighth Yam - Prem Sambhog - 10:34pm to 3:22am

Accept this fallen servant and make me Your eternal servant.

As per Vrinda Devi's guidance, Srimati Radhika goes to Yamuna banks to meet Sri Krishna. She wears dark or light clothes based on the fortnight. Cowherd boys perform various activities to entertain Sri Krishna. Mother Yashoda put Sri Krishna to bed. He secretly leaves the house for the Kunj to keep His appointment with Srimati Radhika.
