Bhagavad Gita Teachings II

Gita should be rightly read with one-pointed devotion for the satisfaction of Sri Krishna. No other scripture is needed if one takes shelter of the Gita. Gita emerges from the Holy Lips of Sri Krishna and is one with Him. So, by taking shelter of the Gita we can have contact with Krishna. We have gone through the Gita but still we have no devotion to Krishna, then this is not actual reading. If we actually read the Gita we will have devotion to Sri Krishna.

    Inner Significance of Bhagavad Gita

In this Harikatha, Srila Gurudev explains who Krishna is and who can speak the real significance of Bhagavad Gita which is the quintessence of all vedic scriptures. Then he narrates the incidence of an illiterate Brahmin whose mood of recitation of Gita pleases Mahaprabhu during His South India tour. Quoting many verses from Gita, Srila Gurudev then explains the different yoga processes narrated by Sri Krishna to Arjun. He also elaborates on how all the yoga processes ultimately lead to bhakti-yoga which is the secret of all secrets.

We are Not This Body, We are Atmā

As long as consciousness—thinking, feeling and willing—exists in the body, so long one is considered a person. But when that consciousness leaves the body, then that body is not considered to be a person. We are not this body, we are atma, the eternally existing, knowledge and blissful principle.
