Srila Bhakivinoda Thakur, to teach the conditioned souls like us on how to confess all our bad qualities to Guru, Vaishnava and Bhagavan, has composed this kirtan. Shikshashtaka
It is prescribed by our Guruvarga that we should remember the eight verses of Sri Shikshashtaka given by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Himself, to enter into the eternal eight periods (astayama) pastimes of Sri RadhaKrishna. When we get established in Sri Shikshastaka, then the pastimes will be gradually manifested. So, this is very important.

This ashtakam is daily sung by the devotees during Purushottama-month praying at the lotus feet of the chief among the thieves, Sri Nandanandan, who can steal the myriad mountains of our sins.

Śrī Daśāvatāra-stotram
The Daśāvatāra-stotra and Gīta-govinda, both written by Śrī Jayadeva Gosvāmī, are still sung daily before Lord Jagannātha Deva for His pleasure. The Daśāvatāra deities are worshipped daily in the Jagannātha Temple at Śrī Puruṣottama-dhāma and in many other temples across India. In the Vaiṣṇava lineages of Assam, harināma-saṅkīrtana is performed by singing about the appearance and pastimes of the ten avatāras. Out of the countless manifestations of the Supreme Lord, the Daśāvatāra occupy a special position.
