Afternoon Bhajan - Attachment to Krsna

In the fifth period we come up to attachment after worship with taste (ruci bhajan). By this we can understand whether we are getting progress in our bhajan or not.

The constitutional nature of the nama-sadhaka is he is the eternal servant of Sri Krsna. Until relationship with Krsna is established, how can attachment come? Forgetting the Lord and coming to this material world one gets attached to the material world and thinks I am of this material world. But no, you are of the Lord, so you pray to the Lord.

ayi nanda-tanuja kiṅkaraṁ
patitaṁ māṁ viṣame bhavāmbudhau
kṛpayā tava pāda-paṅkaja-
sthita-dhūlī-sadṛśaṁ vicintaya

So, we suffer in the material world. We have no money, no power, no woman, they are not the reason. We have forgotten the Lord and so we have fallen in this material world. So pray to Krsna who is the origin of all incarnations, He is avatari.

'On Nandanandan! I am Your eternal servant. Forgetting You and due to my own misdeeds I have fallen in this material ocean of births and deaths and suffering immensely. Out of compassion kindly accept me as Your eternal servant and consider me as dust particle of Your Lotus Feet. If You do not accept me how can I serve You?

tomāra nitya-dāsa mui, tomā pāsariyā
paḍiyāchoṅ bhavārṇave māyā-baddha haṣā
kṛpā kari’ kara more pada-dhūli-sama
tomāra sevaka karoṅ tomāra sevana

Indication of afternoon eternal pastimes of Radha-Krsna

A hint has been given here about afternoon eternal pastimes of Radha-Krsna. Evidence is from Sri Govinda Lilamrta.

śrī rādhām prāpta-gehāṁ nija-ramaṇa-kṛte klṛpta nānopahārām
susnātāṁ ramya-veśāṁ priya-mukha-kamalāloka-pūrṇa-pramodām
śrī kṛṣṇaṁ caivāparāhṇe vrajam anucalitaṁ dhenu-vṛindair vayasyai
śrī rādhāloka-tṛptaṁ pitṛ-mukha-militaṁ mātṛ-mṛṣṭaṁ smarāmi

Radharani, after the noon pastimes at Radha-kunda returns home to Javat in the afternoon. There She had performed so many varieties of services, topmost seva is at Radha-kunda. But She does not feel any of Her service as tiring and after coming home. As She has to send nice dishes to Nanda Bhavan She engrosses herself in preparing varieties of dishes for presenting to Krsna. She also takes bath nicely and dresses Herself with good garments, etc. all to please Krsna. She does so many varieties of seva, and by Her grace we can get some seva. But how can we attain Her mercy? Not directly, we need 'anugatya' in this world. We need to follow in Her foot steps. Leaving ‘anugatya’, if we try by our own efforts then everything will be vacuum, we will not be successful. Radharani has eight sakhis --Ashtasakhis and Lalitha is foremost among them and under her prominent manjari is Rupa Manjari, who is Rupa Gosvami. Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur, Bhakti Siddhantha Saraswati Prabhupad, our Gurudeva took shelter of her lotus feet and if we do not take shelter of them, then how can we serve? We have not had darshan of them, but we have seen our Gurudev. Leaving ‘anugatya’ can we go by our own efforts? So you take mantra from Gurudeva who is the mercy-incarnation of Supreme Lord, whom Prabhupad himself sent and who is his expansion, we have to take shelter of him, follow his foot steps and pray for his mercy.

Now we have got a nice opportunity. This year is the Centennial Celebration of Appearance of our Gurudev. Before that there is adhivas year also and later we celebrate festival. Just like after Krsna's appearance (Avirbhav) we have festival. This year is our Gurudev's Centennial appearance year. By Gurudev's grace this math is established and by his propagation of Krsna bhakti we are all in this path. Before that no one knew what is bhakti. So we have to follow in his foot steps specially in this centenary appearance year. When we take his shelter and follow in his foot steps we will attain everything, and if we depend on our own efforts we will face problems, and it will not be correct. We cannot go directly to Lord by our own will and wish. There is a procedure. When you take shelter then you will know.

When Krsna returns from grazing ground with the cows and cowherd boys, Radharani takes darshan of Krsna and is extremely delighted. Darshan happens through devotion. I remember such Radhika.

Krsna returns happily along with cows, all transcendental cows and cowherd boys and all are awaiting His return eagerly in feelings of great separation. There are gopis, Nanda Maharaj, Yashoda Devi all are crying in separation mood, and when Krsna arrives everyone is very happy. In separation mood there is happiness. It is all transcendental world, Gokul Mahavan, Nandagrama, all transcendental. Krsna comes and meets Nanda Maharaj, Yashoda Mayya and all gopas and gopis who are like father and mother. Then Yashoda Mayya affectionately cleanses Him by giving Him a nice bath. I remember such Krsna.
