Srila Bhakti Prasad Parmarthi Maharaj Sings the Glories of Srila Gurudev
Harikatha, Bhakti Prasad Paramarthi Maharaj
This is the English translation of glorification of Srila Gurudev by Srila Bhakti Prasad Parmarthi Maharaj, a disciple of Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Maharaj, recorded at Mayapur, Virahsabha 2017. Here by remembering two incidences from his personal interactions with Srila Gurudev, Srila Maharaj emphasizes on his matchless vaishnava qualities. While remembering, he relishes the bliss of sublime teachings he had received from Srila Gurudev.

My Siksha Guru, founder of Shree Chaitanya Gaudiya Math Nityalila pravist Bhakti Dayita Madhava Goswami Maharaj be glorious. Jewel of His eyes, His necklace or garland of His neck, non-different from Him, the great personality in commemoration of whose disappearance day this great ceremony has been organized, that my siksha Guru Tridandi Swami Bhakti Ballabh Tirth Goswami Maharaj be victorious.
Once we had gone along with Maharaj on a preaching tour to Haldiya. Srila Trivikram Maharaj, Acharya Maharaj, Yati Maharaj & Tridandi Maharaj had accompanied. Program was organized by local devotees who were very poor. We got to stay in a two storey clay/mud house. Stairs were difficult to climb but Maharaj was quite happy living there.
When we were having Prasad, we were criticizing it - “This is not good. That is not good”. At that time Maharaj came down and chastised us. “This is a poor person’s house. They have organized this program by begging. You are getting ready made Prasad. When anything is offered to Supreme Lord it become Prasad, transcendental and you are criticizing it. This is Mahaprasad. Honor it with that mentality.” Such was His vaishnava qualities. I have seen it from my eyes.
Once in Chandigarh in Shree Chaitanya Gaudiya Math I was asked to speak in a Dharma Sabha. I spoke on the dialogue of Rai Ramananda with Mahaprabhu. There I quoted Mahaprabhu saying “Eho bahya, aage kao aar” but translated in Hindi as “It’s nothing, say further”. My speech got over and I received applause too. After that Maharaja called me to his room and corrected my mistake. He said “It’s not like this. Mahaprabhu didn’t say “It’s nothing”. Mahaprabhu said, “It’s external’’. He explained me by giving an example also. He didn’t chastise me in public but He rectified my mistake in private.
Maharaja was such a great vaishnava. Today we have become bereft of His association but Maharaja’s teachings, his vaishnava qualities, his pastimes and his principles will remain with us always.
